Pencil sharpener blade found in Halloween candy

This afternoon the Prince George RCMP received a report from School District 57 advising that one of their students found a pencil sharpener blade in a small chocolate bar that was obtained while ‘trick or treating’ last night.  The child was not harmed.

On Halloween night, the child attended homes in the Ospika Boulevard area between Ferry Avenue and Rainbow Drive in Prince George.

As always, police are recommending that parents check all treats before allowing them to be consumed by children.  Throw out treats with damaged packaging, slice fruit, and avoid homemade treats from people you do not trust.

These types of reports are extremely rare.  The investigation is continuing.

If you have any information about this incident, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword “pgtips”.  You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.
