City going after age-friendly grant

Prince George is looking for an age-friendly project and it wants the Union of British Columbia Municipalities to fund the project.

The city is applying for a $15,000 grant under the UBCM’s 2018 Age-friendly Communities Grant Program. Funding will be used to work in partnership with community associations to develop and implement programs and services to better serve seniors in a neighbourhood setting.  The City of Prince George completed an Age-Friendly Action Plan in May 2017. Part of that plan relates specifically to the engagement of community associations to develop recreation programs and events that serve residents of all ages.

A specific project for the grant, if successful, has not yet been determined.
