Early morning death in Williams Lake under investigation

 

One man is dead following a complaint of shots fired in Williams Lake Saturday.

Williams Lake RCMP got the call at about 3 a.m. and responded to First Avenue South where they found the body of a deceased man.

Williams Lake General Duty, General Investigations Section, Crime Reduction Unit and Forensic Identification Section members were all called in to assist throughout the investigation.

Police have not said whether the man was shot or even if it is a homicide, but say they believe this to be an isolated incident, and there appears to be no immediate danger to the general public. No further information will be released at this time as the investigation continues.

To respect the privacy of the family, the identity of the man will not be released until the next of kin notification is complete.
