Armed robbery at bank in Prince Rupert


A masked man robbed the Bank of Montreal in Prince Rupert Saturday.

Police say the man entered the bank, at the corner of Second Avenue West and Third Street, around 1 p.m. and threatened the staff with a weapon prior leaving through the main entrance doors with an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect fled north and crossed Second Avenue West prior to turning east down the alley between First Avenue West and Second Ave West.

The suspect is described as being:
– 6 feet to 6’4″ tall
– Large build
– Wearing a grey sweatshirt and dark pants.

The RCMP are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying this male. If you observed anyone matching this description before or after the time of this robbery you are asked to contact the Prince Rupert RCMP at 250-627-0700 or Crime stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
