A 27-year-old woman is dead following a single-vehicle crash near Cinema Wednesday.
Quesnel RCMP report they were called out at 2:23 a.m. They say a southbound 2015 red Fiat left the road near Cinema, just south of Hixon. The woman, who was a passenger in the car, was pronounced dead at the scene. The three remaining occupants were taken to hospital with injuries that have been described as non-life threatening.
The crash closed the highway for several hours. It is now opened to single alternating traffic. The highway is expected to reopen fully in the next few hours.
The investigation is ongoing as investigators determine the causal factors in this crash. Names are not being released at this time pending notification of next of kin.
