More fire training scheduled for airport

Over the next few weeks, a number of fire training sessions are taking place at the Prince George Airport.

Residents are reminded these fires pose no threat to the public or surrounding areas. These fires are held in self-contained training facilities under controlled circumstances and are part of ongoing recurrent fire training and certification.

Training is scheduled to start tomorrow, Wednesday, October 4 from 7-11 a.m. The Prince George Airport Authority (PGAA) Operations Team will practice their skills again on October 11 and 27 between the hours of 7-11 a.m. as well. These fires may produce dark smoke in and around the airport area which has, in the past, caused concern from local residents.
