A gathering at a residence on Dodwell Street in Williams Lake resulted in an altercation on the street, sending one person to hospital with serious injuries Sunday, police say.
Police were called to a residence in the 400-block of Dodwell Street at 5:18 a.m. The call was initially a disturbance complaint and when police arrived that looked to be the case with a group of people on the street yelling and screaming.
While attending to the ruckus, police were notified by medical personnel that a person had been brought to the hospital with serious injuries. The investigation showed that the disturbance call and the call from the hospital were related.
Police are continuing to investigate.
