The Prince George Cougars will be getting a big boost their blue-line this weekend, as Dennis Cholowski (98) has been returned to the club by the Detroit Red Wings.
Cholowski, who was picked 20th overall in the 2016 NHL Draft, played in three pre-season games with the Red Wings, picking up one assist and averaged 19-minutes of ice time. He assisted on Detroit’s second goal in Tuesday’s 4-1 win over Pittsburgh and was a +2.

Monday the Rockford IceHogs, the AHL affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced they’ve signed Cougars forward Radovan Bondra to a one-year contract. Bondra was with the Cougars through Training Camp and played in one pre-season game before leaving for Blackhawks Camp. In 62 games last year, split between the Cougars and the Vancouver Giants, Bondra amassed 32 goals and 63 points in 62 games. In his three seasons in the WHL, the Slovak compiled 47 goals and 93 points in 120 career regular season games; He had another 10 points in 12 career playoff games.

The Cougars also made two other roster moves late last week, releasing forward Taden Rattie (98) and re-assigning forward Edge Lambert (01) to the Grand Prairie Storm Midget AAA, in the Alberta AAA Midget Hockey League.
The Cougars roster now sits at 28 players: three goalies, 10 defenceman and 15 forwards.
