Kanye Penner gets four years for manslaughter

Kanye S. Penner, of Vanderhoof, was given the minimum sentence for manslaughter in Prince George Supreme Court September 20.

He was sentenced to four years in prison, put on probation for 10 years and ordered to provide a DNA sample.

Penner was found guilty of shooting an 18-year-old woman in a Vanderhoof home on Dec. 20, 2012. She was rushed to hospital but died of her injuries.

A 38-year-old, Richard Borne, was charged with careless storage of a firearm, careless use of a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm.
