Cougars trim pre-season roster

The Prince George Cougars have pared down their roster by four, ahead of their final exhibition game against the Kamloops Blazers Friday.

Pre-Season Roster

The following four players have been returned / released:

  • G Brock Hamm (97)- Free Agent
  • D Jack Michell (01)- Saskatoon Contacts (SMAAAHL)
  • F Brendan Kochanski (98)- Portage Terriers (MJHL)
  • F Marco Mazza (99)- Virden Oil Capitals (MJHL)

“Brock has been terrific on and off the ice for us but it’s a numbers game with our 20-year-olds. We felt the timing was right to give him an opportunity to join on with another WHL team,” stated General Manager Todd Harkins.

The Cougars are now left with 31 players on their roster ahead of Friday’s pre-season finale against the Kamloops Blazers at the CN Centre. Prince George’s roster now includes three goalies, 10 defencemen and 18 forwards. However, four of those 31 players still remain at NHL Training Camps.

Prince George’s lone preseason home game takes place tomorrow evening at the CN Centre against the Blazers; puck drops at 7 p.m. Tickets are just $10 and available at the TicketsNorthbox office, or online at www.ticketsnorth.ca

The Cougars kick off their regular season at home against the Spokane Chiefs on Friday, September 22.
