Business Excellence Award finalists revealed

They narrowed it down to 44.

The 44 are broken down into 11 categories, with four local businesses or organizations in each category. They are the nominees for Prince George Chamber of Commerce’s annual Business Excellence Awards, which will be handed out October 21.

“There was excellent turnout and support from the business community,” said Prince George Chamber President, Corey Naphtali. “We look forward to seeing everyone at the Gala in October.”

More than 260 guests showed up for lunch Tuesday as the chamber unveiled the finalists in each category. New this year, luncheon attendees were given the opportunity to cast their votes for their business of choice, which was met with excitement.

In the coming days, chamber members will vote for their favourites during an electronic  vote for 10 of the 11 award categories.

The Hell Yeah Prince George Ambassador Award will be decided by an open online vote published through the chamber’s Facebook page.

Winners will be announced at the Business Excellence Awards taking place on October 21 at the Prince George Playhouse with doors opening for at 6:30 p.m.

New this year, the Business Excellence Awards will change to a new theatre-style format, like many Hollywood award shows such as the Academy Awards. Guests will “ditch the dinner” and enjoy an evening of cocktails and appetizers, entertainment and excitement when the chamber will reveal the winners in all 11 categories.  The celebration will continue this year with our official after party, hosted by the presenting sponsor Northland Auto Group. Tickets can be purchased on the Chamber’s website or by calling the office.
