Evacuation order near Entiako Provincial Park

The Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako has issued an evacuation order for an area west of Entiako Provincial Park.

The evacuation order is in effect for: South of Chedakuz Forest Service Road (FSR), west to the boundary of Entiako Provincial Park, and south east to the border of the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako Electoral Area ‘E’ (Francois/Ootsa Lake Rural) including the Ootsa Extension FSR, as per attached map.

Evacuees Please:

  • Register at the Emergency Social Services (ESS) Centre in Williams Lake at Boitanio Mall or Quesnel at 500 North Star Road between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. If you require group lodging, register at the ESS Reception Centre in Prince George at the Civic Centre at 808 Canada Games Way.
  • Emergency Social Services can provide assistance for food, lodging, clothing, emotional support and family reunification.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:

  • You must leave the area
  • If you need transportation assistance from the area please advise the individual providing this notice or call the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako at 250-692-3195 or Emergency Management BC at 1-800-663-3456.
  • Close all windows and doors.
  • Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers
  • Close gates (latch) but do not lock.
  • Gather your family: take a neighbour or someone who needs help.
  • Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, and keys) only if they are immediately available. Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
  • Do not use more vehicles than you have to.
  • Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency service assistance.
