One man is in custody and facing charges after two incidents that occurred back to back earlier this week.
On Monday August 7, at approximately 6:15 a.m., the Prince George RCMP responded to a report of an assault and mischief on the 1900 block of Strathcona Avenue. Initial indications were that a man had assaulted a woman and punctured the tires of her vehicle, before fleeing the area on foot.
While en route to the assault, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a possible stabbing on the 2300 block of Spruce Street, a short distance away from the initial call.
Police officers attended both locations. Officers found a woman with minor injuries and a man suffering from what appeared to be multiple wounds from an edged weapon. The male suspect had fled before police arrived. All efforts to locate him were negative.
The 31-year-old male victim was transported to hospital for treatment of his injuries. The woman did not require treatment.
On Tuesday August 8, warrant was issued for 25-year-old Trevor Lyndon Alexis of Williams Lake. Alexis was located and arrested in Agassiz, at approximately 9:30 p.m. the same day.
Alexis has been remanded in custody and is facing charges of assault with a weapon, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, assault, mischief under $5,000.
Alexis is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on August 17th, 2017.
Alexis and the woman involved are known to each other. It is not known whether the male victim and the suspect are known to each other. The male victim is not co-operating with police. The investigation is continuing.
