Nineteen wildfires in Prince George Fire Centre area

There are now 19 active wildfires burning in the Prince George Fire Centre area.

Most of those fires date back to the July 7 and 8 when a lightning storm sparked most of the fires now devastating the B.C. interior.

However, a couple of new fires have cropped up in the past two days.

A 1.5-hectare fire was sparked August 6 north of Eskers Provincial Park.

A three-hectare fire was sparked August 5 11 kilometres southeast of Sinkut LO.

The Wild Boy Plant fire, east of the Thinahtea South Protected Area, in the very northeast corner of the province near the Northwest Territories, is listed at 2.3 hectares in size. It started August 3.
