The forest fire near McBride Timber Road South has now grown to 10 hectares.
Fire crews made good progress on the fire yesterday using air tankers but as a precaution the evacuation alert issued last night for about 50 homes in the area last night remains in effect until further notice. Residents from a property on Lamar Road have been evacuated.
Crews from Beaverly Volunteer Fire Department, Pineview Volunteer Fire Department and a crew from BC Wildfire are on the scene.
