Police continue to investigate the break and enter and robbery at a local mall during the early morning of Tuesday.

Just before 4 a.m. on Tuesday July 4, the Prince George RCMP received a weapons report at a local mall on the 3000 block of Massey Drive in Prince George.

Officers immediately attended and soon learned that a lone, masked suspect drove a vehicle through the south entrance to the mall. The suspect drove the vehicle through the mall and smashed into a jewelry store. The suspect was accessing the store when a mall security guard arrived. The suspect fired a shot from a gun and then fled the property on foot. The security guard was unharmed. It is yet known whether the suspect was able to steal any property.

All efforts to identify and locate the suspect have been negative so far.

The suspect is described as:

· Male
· Wearing a black hoody, dark blue jeans, white and grey shoes and a white mask

The vehicle used in the Break-in/Robbery was stolen just before 2:40 a.m. on Monday July 3 from a business in the BCR Industrial Site, on the south end of the City. Surveillance images have been obtained and are being released in an effort to obtain new information from the public about the suspect and at least one accomplice driving another vehicle. The light coloured vehicle is believed to have dropped off the suspect just prior to the vehicle theft, and then followed the stolen vehicle immediately after.
