Williams Lake man facing 22 charges

Charges have now been laid in connection with a Williams Lake case in May where a search warrant was executed on on a residence in Williams Lake.

Davey Ronald Auger, who has been in police custody since May 28, when police executed the search warrant, now faces 22 charges as a result of the investigation. Auger has been charged with five counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking. The various drugs have been identified as heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine; cannabis and fentanyl. Two of those five charges have been directly related to fentanyl.

Auger is also facing 17 other charges, 15 of which are for firearm related offences. The firearms, which were prohibited or modified included a rifle, shotgun, a restricted handgun and a crossbow.

“The RCMP will continue to use a consultative, research based approach to reducing crime by targeting our efforts toward high-volume offenders and known crime hot spots,” said Insp. Pelley, Officer in Charge of Williams Lake Detachment, in a press release. “Although we are pleased with the results and will continue to do everything we can to keep our communities safe. We didn’t do it alone. This is a community issue and we cannot solve crime or lower crime rate without the cooperation of the community.”

Auger’s next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21 2017 where Crown Counsel will seek further detention regarding the new charges.
