Council OKs liquor licence for downtown distillery

A new liquor distillery could soon be operating in the city.

Council has given a thumbs-up to Trench Brewing & Distilling’s liquor licence application. Bailey Hoefels plans to build a distillery at 399 Second Avenue.

Trench Brewing & Distilling Inc. has applied to the Liquor Control and Licensing Branch for a Manufacturer’s Lounge Endorsement in conjunction with the brewing and distilling operations at the subject property. The proposed manufacturer’s lounge would allow patrons to purchase and consume product made on-site (as well as a limited amount of products not made on-site).

The application, which has to be approved by the Liquor Control Licensing Branch, was approved by council.
