It’s come full circle for the interior Steelworkers locals.
Local 1-424 (Prince George) and Local 1-425 (Williams Lake) merged to become one large local on the weekend. It’s return to the IWA days when the Local 1-424 served workers from 70 Mile House to Fort Nelson. Williams Lake split and formed its own local decades ago.
“Proud to have Vice President Rod Park and Doug Mooring of the new merged local unions in Northern/Central BC, USW Local 1-2017. In Washingtonian DC along with others USW representatives from across Canada,” president Frank Everitt posted on his Facebook page.
