It’s a been a slower year for builders in Prince George.
According to the monthly building permit numbers, to be presented to city council Monday evening, 44 building permits were issued during the month of May, with an estimated value of $7.7 million. That brings the total number of permits for the first five months of the year to 166, with an estimated value of $34.4 million.
Both are down from the previous year. During the month of May 2016, 55 permits worth $21.1 million were issued and during the first five months of 2016, 163 permits were issued with a value of $162.8 million.
In May of 2015, 45 permits, with a value of $15.7 million were issued and, in the first five months of 2015, 181 permits with a value of 45.4 million were issued.
