Williams Lake RCMP seize guns, drugs, and cash from house

This past weekend in Williams Lake, the newly formed RCMP Crime Reduction Unit along with General Duty members executed a search warrant that resulted in the seizure of multiple firearms, a variety of drugs, and over $20,000 in cash from a suspected drug trafficker’s residence.

Police seized drugs suspected to be crystal meth, cocaine, heroin, shatter and marijuana. The firearms, which were prohibited or modified, included a rifle and a restricted handgun.

After an extensive investigation police searched a local residence in Williams Lake on Sunday May 28.

Along with the items seized, police have arrested two men in relation to this. Both men are local to Williams Lake and known to police. The men are expected to make a court appearance in Williams Lake Provincial Court on Monday May 29.

Acquiring prohibited weapons and the selling of illicit drugs will not be tolerated said Insp. Jeff Pelley, OIC Williams Lake Detachment. Williams Lake RCMP, including the Crime Reduction Unit will continue to focus on individuals who engage in this sort of activity.
