A cyclist received minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle yesterday morning.
The accident happened at about 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Queensway and 15th Avenue.
A 30-year-old woman riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle and suffered minor, non-life threatening injuries. She was transported to hospital for treatment. Speed and alcohol were not factors.
At the time of the collision, a children’s triathlon was taking place in the area. Police believe this incident occurred as a result of confusion between the driver, the cyclist and traffic control in the area. Charges are unlikely.
A reminder to drivers and cyclists to be cautious of each other, be sure to make eye contact and follow the rules of the road.
