Murder charge laid following last weekend’s attack

A 34-year-old Prince George man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the death of a 30-year-old man last weekend.

In addition to the murder charge, Christopher Clarke Prince has been charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred on Saturday May 20 at approximately 1:40 a.m., when the Prince George RCMP were called to a report of a disturbance near the corner of Oak Street and Porter Avenue.

Officers attended the area and located a man a woman with serious injuries from an apparent assault.  Prince was located and arrested near the scene.

The male victim died as a result of injuries sustained in the attack.  The woman has now been released from hospital.  All indications are that all the people involved were known to each other and that this was a targeted attack as a result of a disagreement.

The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Section continues to lead the investigation.
