Aggravated assault now a homicide

One victim of an early morning aggravated assault has now died as a result of injuries sustained during the attack.

On Saturday May 20 at approximately 1:40 AM, the Prince George RCMP were called to a report of a disturbance near the corner of Oak Street and Porter Avenue in Prince George.

Officers attended the area and located a man and a woman with serious injuries from an apparent assault.  The victims were transported to hospital for treatment.  A manwas located and arrested near the scene.

The male victim has died as a result of injuries sustained in the violent attack.  The woman is expected to survive.

The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Section continues to lead the investigation.

All indications are that all the people involved were known to each other and that this was a targeted attack as a result of a disagreement.
