One person is in custody following a possible homicide on the south side of Francois Lake.
RCMP say they received several calls at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday about a person believed to be dead at the lake.
North District Major Crime, and forensic experts have been called to the community to assist the Burns Lake RCMP with this investigation. A person of interest has been identified and is presently in police custody. The police believe that there is no risk to the community. More information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
