Armed robbery on Third Avenue

Police are looking for information to identify the person responsible for an armed robbery in Downtown Prince George yesterday afternoon.

On Monday April 24, at approximately 3:30 p.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of an armed robbery with a firearm from a retail business on Third Avenue.

Investigators believe a lone suspect entered the business, produced what appeared to be a handgun and demanded cash from the register.  Employees cooperated and the suspect fled westbound on a bicycle with a small amount of cash.  All attempts to locate the suspect were negative.

The suspect was described as a non-white male wearing a grey hoody, black pants, gloves and a balaclava mask.  The bike is described as a purple 10 speed.

Police are asking the public’s help in identifying the person responsible.  If you have any information about this serious Criminal offence, please contact the Prince George RCMP at (250)561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-8477, online at www.pgcrimestoppers.bc.ca (English only), or Text-A-Tip to CRIMES (274637) using keyword “pgtips”.  You do not have to reveal your identity to Crime Stoppers.  If you provide information that leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, you could be eligible for a cash reward.
