At 5:13 p.m. Friday Quesnel RCMP responded to the scene of a crash involving a Greyhound bus and three other vehicles on Highway 97, south of Kersley.
Upon arrival at the scene police discovered that one person was dead and numerous other people with injuries that have been described as minor to serious. The extent of the injuries are not known at this time.
The crash involved a Greyhound bus, a passenger car, a Ford pickup and a Kubota tractor pulling a piece of farm equipment.
A Collision Reconstructionist from Williams Lake has been called to assist Cariboo Traffic Services as well as members from North District Traffic Services. The Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Services are on scene as well.
The investigation is in the early stages and police have not yet determined what may have caused this crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash. All vehicles involved were travelling north on Highway 97. The highway is closed to traffic in both directions and will remain closed for several hours.
