Police are requesting the public’s help identifying a man involved in a suspicious incident involving fireworks and a seven-year-old child Wednesday.
At about 3 p.m. Wednesday, officers were advised that a man pulled up to a group of children walking home from the bus stop and gave a seven-year-old child what he described as a “piece of chalk,” before driving away. The item turned out to be a firework. The incident occurred just before 3 p.m. near the corner of Meyer Road and Bellamy Road.
The man was driving a red van and is described as:
- Caucasian male
- 40 to 50 years old
- Grey beard
The RCMP are very concerned by this incident. The potential for harm to the child is concerning. Investigators would like to speak to the person that gave this item to the child.
