A wanted man is back in custody and a driver has been charged following a vehicle stop last Thursday south of the city.
On Monday April 3, a Canada-wide warrant for being unlawfully at large was issued for 32-year-old Dustin Fagen Plourde. The arrest warrant was issued after Plourde failed to meet the conditions of his release and did not return to his designated residence in Prince George.
Just before 6 p.m. on Thursday April 6, a member of the RCMP’s North District Traffic Services Section, conducted a vehicle check on Highway 97 near Red Rock. The passenger of the south bound vehicle was found to be Plourde. He was co-operative and arrested without incident.
The woman driver was found to be prohibited from driving and was issued an appearance notice for court at a later date. In addition, the driver was issued violation tickets for failing to display a front licence plate and for failing to secure a child in a booster seat. The woman and children were transported back to Prince George by police. The vehicle was impounded.
