The College of New Caledonia is partnering with The Northern British Columbia Dental Hygiene Society to participate in the ninth annual Gift from the Heart on Saturday, April 8.
The Gift from the Heart is a day set aside for registered dental hygienists (RDH’s) all across Canada to share their skills and knowledge with those who need it the most. Prince George has many individuals that cannot financially afford dental hygiene care. They are the under-serviced, the neglected, those without dental insurance or those on a fixed income. These are also the past patients from the College of New Caledonia’s dental clinic.
“We see this event as a win-win for everyone involved. The College of New Caledonia Dental Studies faculty and staff are grateful for the long-standing support our patients have given to our Dental Hygiene program,” said CNC Dental Studies instructor Leslie Battersby. “Our patients are eagerly anticipating the reopening of the Dental Hygiene program in September 2017, with patient bookings to come in January 2018, and we want to thank them for their support.”
Seventeen hygienists from the community are volunteering alongside CNC faculty and dental assisting students for the day-long event which takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., April 8, at the CNC Dental Clinic on the Prince George Campus.
