Man assaulted on Tenth Avenue

The Prince George RCMP are seeking witnesses to an afternoon assault that took place on a busy Prince George street.

On Tuesday, April 4, at approximately 4:50 p.m., members of the Prince George RCMP’s General Duty Section came across a man who appeared to be suffering from one or more injuries.  The man was walking along the 3000 block of Tenth Avenue when police found him.  He was transported to hospital for treatment of his minor injuries, which appeared to be caused by a blunt object.

The victim is well-known to police and was not cooperative.  A residence on the 2900 block of Tenth Avenue was checked for safety and to ensure there were no other victims.  A police dog service team attended the area to assist in locating any suspects or evidence.  No suspects have been identified.

Police are confident that this was a targeted attack in relation to the drug trade and that the general public are not at risk.

The victim was found to have two arrest warrants and was taken into custody after he was released from hospital.
