Semi trucks being shot at while travelling on highway

The RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a vehicle in connection with a series of vehicle shootings over an eight-hour period.

Between 8:30 p.m. on Friday March 24 and 2:45 a.m. on Saturday March 25, North District RCMP received numerous calls of a vehicle on Highway 97, shooting out radiators and windows of semi-tractor trailers while being operated.

Reports of shots fired at semi-trucks were received near Houston, Burns Lake, Vanderhoof, Clucuz Lake, Prince George, Quesnel and 100 Mile House. 

The suspect vehicle has been identified as:

  • 2009 Dodge Caliber
  • Four door
  • Blue
  • Described as “dirty”
  • Ontario license plate: CAVM918

RCMP have determined that the suspect vehicle was last seen travelling southbound on Highway 97 at 93 Mile. There have been no reported injuries to date.

“North District Major Crime is leading the investigation and resources from around B.C. are assisting all efforts to locate the suspect. Police are urging the public to report any information or sightings as soon as possible to 9-1-1.” said Cpl Madonna Saunderson ‎

Police are urging all commercial truck drivers to inspect their vehicles and report any damage they feel is suspicious in nature to your local police department immediately

The public should consider this individual armed and dangerous and should not approach this person. If you have seen the suspect vehicle please call 9-1-1.
