A number of pedestrian and intersection improvements along Highway 16 in Houston soon will be underway.
“It is a priority for the municipality to increase safety for pedestrians travelling along the highway,” said Nechako Lakes MLA John Rustad, in a press release. “These improvements will provide better access for residents to the downtown area and will also support efforts to make Houston an age-friendly community.”
The $300,000 project will include the extension of the sidewalk along the south side of Highway 16 into downtown Houston, and safety improvements at the Tweedie Avenue intersection. Work on the project is expected to be completed this summer.
