Looking to volunteer and give back to your community by making it an even better place? Consider applying for a committee with the City of Prince George.
The city is seeking the expertise of residents interested in serving on the following committees:
Advisory Committee on Accessibility
The Accessibility Committee meets monthly and is responsible to provide advice to city council and solicit feedback from the community on matters that affect persons with disabilities, seniors, and those with access challenges, including identification, removal and prevention of physical and social barriers.
Advisory Committee on Development Design
The Development Design Committee meets weekly, as needed, to provide advice to city council on matters respecting policies and guidelines affecting the city’s physical/built environment as well as applications for development permits in accordance with the Committee Terms of Reference.
Advisory Committee on Enhancing Prince George
The Enhance PG Committee meets monthly and is responsible to advise city council on the enhancement of the social, cultural and natural vibrancy of Prince George through contributions to long range community planning strategies and working with other agencies to encourage and support community participation, civic pride and neighbourhood engagement.
The application deadline for each committee is: 5 p.m., Monday, February 27, 2017
Involvement with council committees, boards and commissions provides residents the opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of our municipality and to provide input on important civic issues.
Successful appointments to the above committees will be for a two-year term beginning April 1, 2017 and ending March 31, 2019.
