Two suspects have been arrested in Alberta following an afternoon robbery in Prince George this past weekend.
On Saturday February 11, at approximately 3:20 p.m., the Prince George RCMP received a report of a robbery outside a residence on Vanier Drive in Prince George.
Several officers attended and discovered a man suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The man was delivering food to a residence when he was assaulted by two men, who then fled with the food and the victim’s vehicle before police were called. The suspects were not believed to have been associated to the residence.
Efforts to locate the vehicle and suspects were initially unsuccessful, therefore neighbouring detachments were notified.
At approximately 10 p.m. the same day, members of the Jasper RCMP successfully stopped the vehicle and arrested a man and a male youth without incident. Both are from Prince George.
“This is a great example of how detachments and police forces work together with the single goal of public safety,” said Cpl. Craig Douglass, spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP. “Thank you to Jasper Detachment and the other detachments that assisted with this investigation.”
The investigation is continuing on both sides of the border and further details may be released as they become available.
