Things heating up at Coldsnap

It might be cold outside but Prince George is about to get a lot hotter.

From Feb 3 to 11, Prince George Folkfest Society once again presents Coldsnap – eight days and nine nights of hot music and warm hospitality.

This year’s lineup once again features something for everyone. Love to dance to hot reggae and Latin rhythms? Come Feb 4 to the Ramada Ballroom. Dancing will also be in order on the opening kickoff night Feb 3 at Canada Games Plaza (a free outdoor event brought to you by CelebratePG), on Feb 6 and 8 where we boogie at the Royal Canadian Legion, on Feb 9 when we celebrate music of the North at the Fore Bistro, and on Feb 11 where we team with CCFPG to dance to trad-Quebecois jigs and reels as well as real gypsy jazz at the Ramada Ballroom.

Enjoy the smoother sounds of a comfortable sit-down concert at the Playhouse? We have the incredible musicianship and harmonies of B.C.’s own The Bills and others on Feb 5, the sensational voices of Coco Love Alcorn and others on Feb 7 and the beautiful (and toe-tapping), traditional fiddle music of Alasdair Fraser and others on Feb 10.

Or bring your family to a specially priced kids show in the afternoon at the PG Playhouse on Feb 5. In addition, you can see most artists during the week at free community outreach events.

Cap it off with a days worth of fun activities at The Downtown Winter Carnival brought to you by DBIA and CelebratePG. All the details for Coldsnap 2017 are at www.coldsnapfestival.com.
