Building permits cool in December

Prince George’s building permit boom slowed a bit in December.

According to figures released by the city this week, only 11 building permits were issued in December, worth an estimated $2.5 million. This is down from the 22 permits issued in December of last year, worth an estimated $4.5 million and the 26 permits issued in December of 2014, worth $4.6 million.

According to the city numbers, 454 permits, worth $127.8 million were issued for the year last year. That’s down in number, 487, but up in value, $88.7 million, issued last year. In 2014, there were 508 permits issued worth $123.9 million.
