Eight arrested in drug bust, three charged

Charges are likely following an investigation into drug trafficking at a residence in Prince George.

At approximately 10:20 p.m. on Friday January 13, the Prince George RCMP's Street Crew Unit stopped a vehicle on 15th Avenue near Nicholson Street.  Two men were arrested and a quantity of cocaine was seized. 

As a result of this traffic stop, the Street Crew Unit executed a  search warrant on a residence in the 300 block of Moffat Street during the early morning hours of Saturday January 14

Inside the residence police arrested two men and four women.  During the search, officers located and seized significant quantities of cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin and prescription pills, as well as drug trafficking paraphernalia and cash.

Of the eight persons arrested, a 40-year-old man a 32-year-old woman have been remanded in custody and will likely appear in Provincial Court later today.  A 31-year-old woman was released on a promise to appear for court on March 15, and a 65-year-old man was released without charge, but may be summoned to court at a later date.  The four others were released without charge.

The investigation is continuing.
