Tomorrow crews with the City of Prince George will be installing a valve on a watermain that sprang a leak earlier this month.
The city anticipates the work will take from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and estimates that roughly 450 residential structures will be affected (see map). Some of the structures will experience low water pressure and others, particularly at higher elevations such as Vista Ridge, will experience a complete water stoppage.
Yesterday, crews determined that the process would affect the flow of water to a school in the area. Consequently, the City will be carrying out the operation on the weekend.
On Wednesday, the city conducted an operation in the Southridge neighbourhood and successfully identified the source of the leak.
