Unsung Heroes of Northern BC event set for February 4

The Unsung Heroes of Northern BC event is about regular citizens who have accomplished something extraordinary.

Unsung Heroes of Northern BC, who live for others and do something inspirational, bold, and unselfish. These are citizens who have made a difference in our communities and have made Northern BC proud. The Unsung Heroes event will showcase all the remarkable contributions and the journeys of extraordinary people as they help society improve and they themselves become an inspiration to others.

The goal is to find real life heroes and encourage others to follow in their footsteps. It will provide an opportunity to honour individuals of the North for their inspirational work and wholehearted kindness. The appreciation and recognition is also intended to encourage community awareness and to instill in others the responsibility of working towards a more inclusive, compassionate and prosperous society.

Nominations for Heroes close January 14 and all those nominated will be reviewed by a panel of nine judges – Bobby Deepak, Garth Frizzell, Terri McConnachie, Scott McWalter, Lisa Redpath, Charles Scott, Ken Solonas and Quesnel Mayor Bob Simpson. The process will culminate in an appreciation and recognition ceremony on February 4  at the Coast Inn of the North. Tickets are $75.
