Crash causes power outage in Vanderhoof

Vanderhoof RCMP officers continue their investigation into a single vehicle crash that sent one person to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and knocked out power to the town of Vanderhoof.

At 1:27 a.m. Monday, a vehicle travelling on Highway 16, struck a power pole near First Street in Vanderhoof. The crash resulted in downed power lines, forcing the driver, and only occupant to remain inside the vehicle. BC Hydro and Vanderhoof Fire Department were immediately called to the scene and the driver was safely removed from the vehicle. Power to Vanderhoof has since been restored.

The investigation is ongoing as police work to determine the causal factors that contributed to this crash.
