Police seek to identify counterfeiting suspect

Police are requesting the public’s help identifying a suspect in recent counterfeit currency investigations.

On Thursday January 5, the Prince George RCMP received two reports of counterfeit currency from retailers in Prince George.

In one instance the suspect passed American $50 bills and in the other instance the suspect passed American bills of various denominations including $5, $10, $20, and $50 bills.  Many of the bills had the same serial numbers as other bills of the same denomination.

The suspect is described as:

  • Caucasian male
  • 20 to 30 years old
  • Medium height
  • Medium build
  • Wearing blue jeans, blue jacket, grey & black ball cap, black shoes and glasses.

The suspect is believed to be driving a dark coloured small SUV, likely a newer model Toyota Rav4. 

The suspect may be travelling and may attempt similar crimes in other communities.
