Man arrested after late-night stabbing

Police have one person in custody and are continuing to investigate after a late night stabbing in Prince George.

At about 10:15 pm., police received a report of a stabbing on Sparrow Road in the Hart.  Police were advised that the suspect had fled in a vehicle immediately following the incident.

While en route to the scene police located the suspect vehicle turning onto Otway Road.  The vehicle was located minutes later, after the driver lost control and slid into a snowbank.  The suspect, a 20-year-old man, was arrested without incident.  A knife and a pellet pistol were located in the vehicle.  In addition, the suspect was found to be a prohibited driver and the vehicle was uninsured.

The man was held in custody and is expected to appear in court later today.  Multiple charges are anticipated.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was transported to hospital for treatment of what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries.  The suspect and the victim are known to each other.
