Charges laid in connection with last week’s shooting

A Prince George man has now been charged in relation to the targeted shooting that occurred in Prince George last week.

Police were called out early Friday morning, April 29, to a report of a shooting in a parking lot near the intersection of 17th Avenue and Upland Street.

Officers arrived and located a man suffering from what appeared to be at least one gunshot wound. Officers began first aid until medical first responders arrived on scene. The victim was transported to hospital for treatment.

The Prince George RCMP’s Major Crime Section was called in to lead the investigation. The investigation led officers to a residence in the Blackburn community and a residence in College Heights. Four suspects were arrested. One of those four, Jamie Wade Fatum, a 23-year-old resident of Prince George, has been charged by Provincial Crown Counsel with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • Attempted Murder with a Firearm
  • Pointing a Firearm
  • Possession of a Firearm without a Licence

This investigation is continuing. Charges against the other arrested persons may be considered.
