
Just days after the start of the annual poppy campaign, police are investigating three incidents of theft from local restaurants.
Just before 11:30 p.m. on Monday November 2, police received a report of a break and enter to a restaurant on the 1500 block of Highway 97 South in Prince George. Officers attended and found a broken glass door to the business and the poppy tray stolen.
On Tuesday November 3, RCMP received a report of two incidents where poppy trays and cash were stolen from a restaurant on Central Street East. The incidents occurred on Sunday November 1 at approximately 8 p.m. and again just after midnight on the morning of Tuesday November 3. Approximately 30 minutes after the break and enter on Highway 97 South.
The same person is the suspect in all three thefts. He is described as:
- First Nations male
- Stalky build
- Wearing a very distinct #19 Jonathon Toews Chicago Blackhawks Winter Classic hockey jersey
