Homicide investigation underway

A 30-year-old man was killed in an apparent shooting in the 700-block of Johnson Street Friday afternoon.

Prince George RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at about 5 p.m. Several officers attended the area and located a man outside a residence suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.  The man was transported to hospital where he died a short time later.  No suspects were located.

The Prince George RCMP’s Serious Crime Unit have been called in to lead the investigation.  Anyone that may have witnessed this incident or have outdoor surveillance images, are asked to contact the detachment.

This investigation is in its early stages, however police are confident that this was a targeted attack and the general public are not at risk.
