Sgt. Matt LaBelle of the Prince George RCMP’s municipal traffic services section reminds motorists the police will be conducting Counter Attack road checks this holiday season.

The Prince George RCMP is focusing on road safety this holiday season to make sure everyone makes it home safely. Additional officers will be out and about conducting road blocks and traffic stops.

This past weekend the Prince George RCMP Traffic Unit conducted Counter Attack road checks in addition to mobile patrols targeting impaired drivers. They were able to take four impaired drivers off the road, impound six vehicles, as well as issue 36 violation tickets.

“The Prince George RCMP wants to thank all of those who made the correct choice to get a safe ride home and to those who demonstrated patience during the road blocks,” said Sgt. Matthew LaBelle of the Prince George RCMP.

The police want to remind the public to plan ahead for a safe ride home, whether it be with a friend, calling a taxi, or programs such as Operation Red Nose.
