Homeowner nabs B&E suspect, holds him down until police arrive

A homeowner who discovered someone breaking into his shed Wednesday morning, managed to hold the suspect down until police arrived.

Police were called to the residence on Moyie Street at about 8:15 a.m. by a neighbour who heard a scuffle next door.

When police arrived they found the homeowner holding the 22-year-old suspect down. The suspect was arrested and a small quantity of drugs were found on him.

The suspect was held in custody overnight and will appear in court later today.

Police say sheds, garages and compounds are being targeted by thieves.  Please take the extra steps to ensure your property is secured.
