Shortly after midnight Sunday, Bella Coola RCMP executed a search warrant at a local residence and seized two firearms, several cartridges of ammunition and other weapons
RCMP are working with BC Prosecution Services and a report will be submitted for review. A local man could face several Criminal Code charges. The investigation is ongoing and no further details are being released at this time.
“It is important that community members be vigilant and report illegal activity, such as people illegally possessing firearms,” said Sergeant Rick Skolrood, detachment commander of the Bella Coola RCMP. “It is through a strong community and information they provide to the police that helps us effectively combat crime and keep our community safe.”
