Alberta woman charged with murder in Vanderhoof

A Spirit River, Alberta woman has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of man in Vanderhoof hotel in May.

On May 16, at approximately 8 p.m., Vanderhoof RCMP were called to a local hotel where they found a 59-year-old Vanderhoof man deceased. The death appeared suspicious and the North District Major Crime Unit were called to investigate. 

On August 2, a woman was arrested in Spirit River, Alberta in connection with the death in Vanderhoof. Allie Leslie, 24, has been charged with second degree murder. She remains in custody and will be appearing in court on August 13, in Prince George.

No further information is available at this time but it can be confirmed that both the victim and accused were known to one another.
